Yeah - whatever. All I know is these are just fascinating. In a low tech kinda way. I guess the first one I ever saw was on TV - The Green Hornet, to be specific.
That was that start of a long quest. In the 80's I got my hands on a line plotter at my work study job ... but that was a long time ago. I knew I'd have the time to do more exploring someday.
Recently I drew this picture which reminded me that moire patterns are not about the lines - they're about sculpting the WHITE SPACE. You almost have to un focus your eyes to get sucked inside. But they'll start moving on ya.
Here's what I came up with just three colors of straight lines at slightly different overlapping angles. RED - GREEN - BLUE sources are at MCARRICK.COM. I'm just getting started with this stuff ...
